Hello from the upper east side.
We arrived about 11pm last night via Virgin America which is the only way to fly and promptly headed over to
Wollensky's Grill for a midnight snack. They serve until 2:00am seven days a week so that was nice for us. The guy who paid for our dinner over a year ago recognized us and couldn't believe how good Nick looked. His last memory was skinny and bald and Nick is neither of those things now. When I asked him for the bill last year, he said....I know what you are here for and this one is on us.....pretty cool.
Anyway, today was the
pre-boarding process. Blood tests, insert IV line, pick up the pee bucket, drink SSKI drops to protect against the MIBG stuff that he will get tomorrow, talk to the nurse
practitioners and the docs. All that is done and the CT scan starts the process at 8:00am tomorrow.
Nick is in good spirits. These tests are nerve wracking but necessary and all we can think of again is NED.
