Two Years Ago
It was two years ago today when Nick was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Tonight he smoked an RBI base hit over the shortstops head and helped his team to a Lakeside Little League victory....what a massive change of events. If you would have told me on May 12th 2006 that Nick would hit a pea rod tonight .... I would not have believed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We couldn't be happier with the fact that he is playing ball after what we were told two years ago. Also today, the Band of Parents and Neuroblastoma in general may have got a break that we were looking for from a celebrity. A family from Ireland (God Bless the Irish!!!) is in New York for treatment at MSKCC and TomKat got to meet them. The mom forced her way to them and made an emotional appeal that we hope is going to help get this disease on the map and generate more money for research.
The link below has terrible audio but you can tell she is working the cause.

Here is the story of the little Irish girl:
Grace O'Gorman has stage IV neuroblastoma and her mum did something awesome, she quieted the flash bulbs and questions and had an audience with Tom Cruise. On the way into their New York hotel Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were approached by the mother of little Grace and as she gave the account of her daughter's illness all the paparazzi stopped talking and time actually seemed to stand still for a moment. It's actually pretty interesting to see. Tom took down the little girl's website address and so hopefully he will be donating big. Visit Graces website here http://www.graceogorman.com/
If anything can be said for Tom, he honestly seemed to listen and care.
Good going Tom, now let your wallet do the talking for you.
