No NB

Those were Dr. Kushner's words when I asked him again today if there were any updates on Nicks scans!!!

We are relieved to hear his pithy but beautiful statement.

Still Waiting

Usually we have all three scans by now (MIBG, CT, MRI) but for some reason the CT is not back yet. I hope to get all the results by Friday.

Nick just got back from fishing and horseback riding and is heading for Tahoe today. He just carries on and never even asks about it.

Home - Awaiting Results

We got out of New York on time yesterday even though we had to wait around for an extra hour to complete the bone marrow procedure. Nick is very happy to be home and now we are once again in that nerve wracking phase of waiting for the results to come in. So far, we know that the MIBG and Brain MRI are negative so that is great but we will feel better once we know that the CT Scan is also negative. For some reason, that one is not in yet even though it usually is the first one we hear about.

As soon a I hear from MSKCC I will update this blog.

Last Day

We hope to be out of here in a few hours. So far, Nick has completed everything except the bone marrow surgery. We were ready to go but he told them he had a sip of water and the anesthesiologist overreacted and wouldn't do the procedure. So we are waiting and we are not very happy!!

The hospital is packed today with cancer patients so it is not a very happy place.

Looking forward to JFK and a nonstop to SFO.

Walk-Off

We finished all the hospital pre-boarding stuff around 5:00pm yesterday and from the computers in the PDH I stub-hubbed some great Yankee Tickets and printed them out. Then we dumped our stuff at the hotel and caught the #4 train for the Bronx. It was great!! The new stadium is spectacular and the game was a 9th inning walk-off win for the Yankees. We got to hear Frank sing and it was all big fun!! Afterwards, we had a little post game snack at Primola's and called it a night.

Today, all the tests start so it won't be nearly as much fun. (CT, MIBG Injection, and brain MRI)

Here is to Nick flying through these tests as he has before!!!

Red Eye

We all hate the red eye flight but Jet Blue is once again going from SMF to JFK and that is a good thing. The next thing you know, you are in New York City!!!

So, here we are for the dreaded 90 day testing process. We home Nick is still clean since he has been doing great and is very active but the whole goal of these tests is to "find it even when there are no symptoms."

We landed, ate breakfast, got into our room and slept for 4 hours. We had lunch at 4 and then dinner at 10 and are now finally turning in at midnight Eastern. We will be at the hospital at about 11:00am tomorrow to start our testing process.

The weather here is spectacular and we had a good day walking around.

I will keep you updated each day while we are here.
